Our suggested 13-day itinerary below is a great way to start planning your New York and New England motorhome holiday.
Tailor-make your experience by simply adding or removing your choice of locations. If you have more time and want to explore further still, there are plenty of additional places and sites to visit along the way.

DAY 1 - 2
Fly to New York and enjoy a couple of nights exploring the Big Apple. See the Empire State Building from the top of the Rockefeller Center, stroll around Central Park, and shop 'til you drop in Macy's.
Pick up your motorhome and start your tour by heading northeast past Long Island Sound, a huge estuary of the Atlantic Ocean, towards the town of Preston.
DAY 4
Scusset Beach State Reservation is your destination today. En route, soak up the sights of huge mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, and call in at Mystic Seaport - a vast maritime museum with an impressive collection of sailing ships, boats, and an entire 19th-century waterfront village.
DAY 5
Before heading north towards Plymouth, first take a detour onto Cape Cod peninsula to visit Hyannis, home of the Kennedy family’s private residence, and stop for a lunch of fresh shellfish. Continue on to Plymouth - 'America's Hometown' - where New England was first established and the Mayflower landed in 1620. Boston is easily reached by train from Plymouth.
DAY 6
Head north to Salisbury Beach in Massachusetts. On the way you may like to call in at Salem to learn more about the grisly 1692 witchcraft trials.
DAY 7
Continue north along America's beautiful Atlantic coast, passing briefly through New Hampshire, and onto the affluent town of Bar Harbor in Maine. Take a sightseeing tour to spot puffins, whales, lobster, seals, and other wildlife.
DAY 8
Heading west to inland Maine, drive to Mount Blue State Park to explore its nature trails, spectacular scenery and wildlife such as moose, black bear and coyotes.
DAY 9
Enjoy the dramatic scenery of Mount Washington as you head towards the hillside town of Bethlehem in New Hampshire, part of which is within the White Mountain National Forest.
DAY 10
Continuing south to White River Valley, visit the famous Dartmouth College en route.
DAY 11
Drive south to Arlington in Vermont, located within the Green Mountain National Forest, crossing the White River Junction.
DAY 12
Continue due south and back into New York State, where you'll have the chance to visit Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Lazy River.
DAY 13
Return to New York, where it's time to drop off your motorhome, purchase any last-minute bargains and catch your flight back to London.
