    ROUTE 66

    DAY 1
    Fly from London to Chicago. Spend your first night in a Chicago hotel – or why not extend your stay to explore what the Windy City has to offer?
    DAY 2
    Pick up your motorhome and head to Springfield. Visit Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site, which includes a reconstruction of the village where Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood.
    DAY 3
    Drive towards the Mississippi River and St Louis. Visit the Gateway Arch, which at 630ft is the tallest man-made monument in the USA.
    DAY 4
    Make your way to Tulsa (less than 24 hours!) in Oklahoma. Known for its art deco architecture, the city is also home to landmarks like the Philcade and Philtower buildings.
    DAY 5
    Drive to Oklahoma City – make sure you check out the old Route 66 motels, gas stations and numerous vintage buildings.
    DAY 6
    ‘Show me the way to Amarillo’, stopping at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton to experience six decades of the Route’s history.
    DAY 7
    A shorter drive to America’s Southwest and Tucumcari, the gateway to New Mexico. Visit Ute Lake State Park, a beautiful 13 mile long lake known for its numerous coves and inlets.
    DAY 8
    Head for Albuquerque, New Mexico’s capital, where you could take a balloon flight over the Rio Grande Valley or hike among dormant volcanoes. Don’t miss stunning views of the city from the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway.
    DAYS 9 - 10
    Drive to the Grand Canyon, one of the most spectacular examples of arid land erosion in the world. Take an aerial tour in a helicopter or a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway.
    DAY 11
    Drive to Kingman, visiting Bearizona, a drive-through wildlife park, en route. Stop at Seligman with its famous Road Kill Café and Snow Cap Restaurant.
    DAYS 12 - 13
    Travel to Las Vegas, where you can walk along the famous Strip and enjoy everything from spectacular stage shows to world-class casinos and championship golf courses.
    DAY 14
    Head west to Barstow, stopping at the iconic Hoover Dam along the way.
    DAYS 15 - 16
    Travel to Los Angeles for your final 2 nights. Things to see and do include Hollywood, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Rodeo Drive, the Farmers Market and Universal Studios.
    DAY 17
    Return your motorhome to the rental depot and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
