Plan your Yukon and Alaska motorhome holiday with our suggested two-week itinerary, below.
With so much to see and do in this magnificent part of Canada, you'll have your own list of must-visit attractions. Make the experience yours by simply adding or removing any locations you want to include or leave out. Why not extend your trip and tick off more sights?

    DAY 1
Most flights to Alaska stop in Vancouver, the capital of British Columbia. Why not spend a night here exploring this vibrant coastal city? Alternatively, take a domestic flight to Whitehorse and stay in Canada's 'Wilderness City' for your first taste of the Yukon.
    DAY 2 - 4
Collect your motorhome and start your Alaskan adventure. Head out along the Alaska Highway to the mountain village of Haines Junction, your base for the next three days. Here you can soak up the glorious views of the Ruby and Dezadeash Ranges, and explore the magnificent adventure playground of Kluane National Park and Reserve of Canada.
    DAY 5 - 7
Make your way steadily northwest towards the town of Haines. En route, you may choose to stop at any one of scores of glorious points such as Kathleen Lake - a likely place to see bears - or the Million Dollar Falls on Takhanne River. On arrival in Haines, you'll soon see why it's billed the Adventure Capital of Alaska. From hiking, rafting and kayaking to heli-skiing and winter thrills, it's year-round fun. Look out for bald eagles in the beautiful Chilkat River Valley.
    DAY 8 - 10
From Haines, hop on the ferry to Skagway, made famous in the late 19th century when gold was found in the Klondike region. Learn about its sudden development during the gold rush and its scandalous past, and pan for gold in the Gold Rush visitor centre.
    DAY 11 - 13
Leaving gold fever behind, take the White Pass and the Klondike Highway 2 in a northeasterly direction towards Carcross, enjoying spectacular mountainous scenery and views across Tutshi Lake on the way. Skirt past Bove Island to the town of Carcross, formerly known as Caribou Crossing.
    DAY 14
After a day or two at Carcross, head back towards Whitehorse. En route, savour the sight of Emerald Lake - an aptly named natural wonder of clear blue water.
    DAY 15
Return your motorhome and fly back to London. If you're flying via Calgary, why not stop over in the city to get a taste of Canada's cowboy country?
