    DAYS 1 - 3: COLOMBO & CHILAW

    DAY 1

    Overnight flight from London to Colombo.

    DAY 2

    Arrive Colombo where you will meet your Tour Escorts and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an evening welcome meal with your fellow travellers. Overnight Chilaw Hotel.

    DAY 3

    Day at leisure after breakfast. Later you will be introduced to your driver, group guide and get to look around your motorhome. Evening meal and overnight at Chilaw Hotel.

    DAYS 4 - 6: KALPITIYA & WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK

    DAY 4

    Travel to Kalpitiya (50 miles) for a dolphin watching trip (weather permitting), followed by a Sri Lankan lunch. Drive to the first campsite at Wilpattu (60 miles). Overnight Wilpattu campsite.

    DAY 5

    Enjoy a half day safari within Wilpattu National Park, followed by lunch. In the evening you will have a sweet meat tasting experience followed by a BBQ dinner at the campsite. Overnight Wilpattu Campsite.

    DAY 6

    Day at leisure - why not take an optional leopard trail within the National Park? Overnight Wilpattu campsite.

    DAYS 7 - 9: JAFFNA & DELFT ISLAND

    DAY 7

    Drive to Jaffna after breakfast (144 miles) via Anaradhapura, one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka – city tour included. Evening meal at the campsite. Overnight Jaffna Campsite.

    DAY 8

    After breakfast, you will be taken on a tour of Delft Island, named after the Dutch city, followed by lunch. In the evening, enjoy a city tour of Jaffna, with its mixture of colonial charm and Tamil culture, followed by a seafood BBQ at the campsite. Overnight Jaffna campsite.

    DAY 9

    Day at leisure to further explore Jaffna, with breakfast and traditional evening meal at the campsite. Overnight Jaffna campsite.

    DAYS 10 - 12: DAMBULLA, CAVE TEMPLES & SIGIRYA ROCK

    DAY - 10

    After breakfast, drive to Dambulla via Habarana (175 miles). Enjoy a village trek in Habarana, and catamaran ride on the Hirawaduna Lake followed by a Sri Lankan lunch. Evening meal included. Overnight Dambulla campsite.

    DAY - 11

    Breakfast included. Today we will visit the Sigirya rock fortress and climb the 1200 steps to the top*. Evening meal included. Overnight Dambulla Campsite.

    DAY - 12

    After breakfast , travel to the Dambulla Cave Temple, followed by a trip to the Dambulla market in the afternoon. Return to the campsite, where you will enjoy an evening meal overlooking the lake. Overnight Dambulla Campsite.

    *Please note the Sigiriya rock climb is physically demanding, and includes a number of very narrow stair cases. Climbing is at your own risk, and we recommend you wear loose clothing and strong footwear. For those not wanting to climb the rock, a visit to the museum will be an option.

    DAYS 13 - 15: BATTICALOA & PASSIKUDAH BEACH

    DAY 13

    Drive to Batticaloa after breakfast via Polonnaruwa (100 miles), with a bicycle tour of its ancient ruins. Evening meal at campsite. Overnight Batticaloa campsite.

    DAY 14

    Today you will be taken on a trip to Passikudah beach with lunch included. Evening at leisure. Overnight Batticaloa Campsite.

    DAY 15

    Breakfast at campsite. Day at Leisure, followed by an evening BBQ dinner on the beach. Overnight Batticaloa Campsite.

    DAYS 16 - 17: KNUCKLES MOUNTAIN RANGE 

    DAY 16 - 17

    After breakfast, you’ll travel to the Knuckles Mountain range via Mahiyanganaya, home of the aborigines of Sri Lanka, the Veddahs (120 miles). Drive to Madulkelle where you’ll be staying in a tented lodge. Breakfast and evening meals are included. 2 nights under luxury canvas overlooking the Knuckles mountain range – an experience not to be missed.

    DAYS 18 - 21: KANDY, NUWARA ELIYA & HORTON PLAINS NATIONAL PARK

    DAY 18
    Short drive to Kandy (25 miles), with city tour including a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Overnight Kandy Campsite.

    DAY 19

    Day at leisure to explore Kandy with breakfast included. Enjoy a cultural dance performance followed by an evening meal in the colonial house. Overnight Kandy campsite.

    DAY 20

    After breakfast, drive to Nuwara Eliya nicknamed ‘Little England’ (50 miles). Enjoy afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel before driving to the campsite. Overnight Nuwara Eliya campsite.

    DAY 21

    Today you will visit Horton Plains National Park and Baker’s Falls after breakfast. Overnight Nuwara Eliya campsite.

    DAYS 22 - 24: TRAIN JOURNEY TO ELLA, YALA NATIONAL PARK & KATARAGAMA TEMPLE

    DAY 22

    Travel to Nanu Oya railway station for an unforgettable train journey to Ella. Drive to Kirinda (125 miles). Overnight Kirinda campsite with evening meal included.

    DAY 23

    Drive to Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife park (with packed breakfast) for a morning safari, followed by lunch. Visit the Kataragama Temple before returning to the campsite. Overnight Kirinda campsite.

    DAY 24

    Day at leisure. Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight Kirinda campsite.

    DAYS 25 - 27: TALALLA & GALLE

    DAYS 25 - 26

    After breakfast, drive to Talalla (69 miles) for your beach stay. 2 nights Talalla campsite.

    DAY 27

    Drive to the city of Galle via Kogalla (44 miles), with a city tour included. Overnight Galle hotel including evening meal.

    DAYS 28 - 30: EXPLORE COLOMBO

    DAY 28

    After breakfast, travel to Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo via Kosgoda (94 miles). Included is a visit to a turtle hatchery before returning your motorhome. Overnight Colombo hotel including evening meal.

    DAY 29

    Today you’ll be taken on a city tour of Colombo with its mix of colonial buildings and shopping malls. Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.

    DAY 30

    Arrive UK. This ends the tour arrangements

    A FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

    • You will be allocated your own personal driver to drive you around, still offering you the freedom of stopping where you would like along the way. The driver will be with you during the day, then once you arrive at your campsite/hotel will then retire to their accommodation, and re-join you the following morning.
    • The majority of meals and excursions are provided for you as part of the tour cost, so less spending money will be needed.
    • Maximum of 10 motorhomes on this tour so early booking is recommended.
    • The roads in Sri Lanka are varied from smooth tarmacked highways to dusty side-roads.
    • Your accommodation will be a mixture of campsite and hotel stays.
    • Some of the planned activities will be demanding physically and will be taken at your own risk. Please ensure you have adequate insurance and are satisfied with the level of cover in place.
