    DAY 1

    Overnight flight from London to Colombo

    DAY 2

    Arrive Colombo, meet your Tour Escorts and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Enjoy an evening meal in the company of your fellow travellers.

    DAY 3

    After breakfast the motorhomes will be delivered to the hotel, where you will meet your driver, group guide and have the opportunity to look around your vehicle. Drive to Wilpattu National Park (65 miles) stocking up on supplies on the way. Overnight Wilpattu campsite with Evening Meal included.

    DAY 4

    Half-day safari within Wilpattu National Park, followed by lunch. As one of the oldest National Parks, Wilpattu is renowned for its leopard population along with 31 species of mammals and an abundance of wetland bird species. In the evening there will be a BBQ dinner at the campsite. Overnight Wilpattu campsite.

    DAY 5

    Drive to Dambulla via Anaradhapura with city tour (63 miles). The sacred city of Anaradhapura was once a major centre of Sri Lankan civilisation. The ancient ruins include bell like stupas built of small sun-dried bricks, temples, sculptures, palaces and ancient drinking-water reservoirs. Overnight Dambulla campsite with evening meal included.

    DAY 6

    Breakfast included. Today we will visit the Sigiriya rock fortress and climb the 1200 steps to the top*. In the afternoon you will visit to the Dambulla Cave temples and market. Enjoy an evening meal overlooking the lake. Overnight Dambulla campsite.

    *Please note the Sigiriya rock climb is physically demanding, and includes a number of very narrow stair cases. Climbing is at your own risk, and we recommend you wear loose clothing and strong footwear. For those not wanting to climb the rock, a visit to the museum will be an option.

    DAY 7

    Drive to Kandy after breakfast (65 miles). Enjoy a city tour including a visit to the famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Overnight Kandy Campsite.

    DAY 8

    After breakfast you will have a tour of a nearby tea factory where you will be able to see the various stages of the tea making process. In the evening enjoy a cultural dance performance followed by an evening meal in the colonial house. Overnight Kandy campsite.

    DAY 9

    After breakfast drive to Nuwara Eliya, nicknamed ‘Little England’ (50 miles). Enjoy afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel before driving to the campsite. Overnight Nuwara Eliya campsite.

    DAY 10

    Travel to Nanu Oya railway station for an unforgettable train journey to Ella. Drive to Kirinda (125 miles). Overnight Kirinda campsite with evening meal included.

    DAY 11

    Drive to Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife park (with a packed breakfast) for a morning safari followed by lunch. Animals you are likely to see in Yala include elephants, reptiles, sloth bears and the leopard. In the afternoon, visit the Kataragama Temple before returning to the campsite for an evening meal by the beach.

    DAY 12

    Drive to the city of Galle (100 miles) with a city tour included. Home to the Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle’s history dates back centuries. Step back in time as you wander through and explore the boutique shops that lie behind the historic walls. Overnight Galle Hotel with evening meal.

    DAY 13

    After breakfast, drive to Colombo with a city tour included (78 miles). Colombo is a small capital, but growing rapidly. See the many people at the busy Pettah Bazaar, the Colombo Town Hall, the Colombo Museum and Independence square. Return motorhomes in the afternoon. Overnight Colombo hotel with evening meal.

    DAY 14

    After breakfast, transfer to the airport for afternoon flight to UK.

    • You will be allocated your own personal driver to drive you around, still offering you the freedom of stopping where you would like along the way. The driver will be with you during the day, then once you arrive at your campsite/hotel will then retire to their accommodation, and re-join you the following morning.
    • The majority of meals and excursions are provided for you as part of the tour cost, so less spending money will be needed.
    • Maximum of 10 motorhomes on this tour so early booking is recommended.
    • The roads in Sri Lanka are varied from smooth tarmacked highways to dusty side-roads.
    • Your accommodation will be a mixture of campsite and hotel stays.
    • Some of the planned activities will be demanding physically and will be taken at your own risk. Please ensure you have adequate insurance and are satisfied with the level of cover in place.
